THE ROLE
We are partnering with an industry leader in lumber, known for consistently delivering high-quality, in-demand products across North America.
An established, family-rooted company dating back to 1974, you would be joining a robust, healthy, wholesale company who focuses on sustainability and environmentally responsible work.
We are recruiting for a Senior Accountant to join their Maple Ridge office. This position is ideal for someone detail-oriented, proactive, and hands-on.
This position is Fully On-Site, Monday to Friday 730am-4pm.
Due to their location not being transit friendly, a reliable vehicle is required.
Responsibilities
- Full-Cycle Accounting: Manage AP, AR, payroll, and inventory operations
- Bank reconciliations, cash forecast reporting
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze statements for internal usage and external bank reporting
- Year-end review with the external accounting firm – provide necessary data and answer questions, posting adjustments and reconciling to final financial statements
- Compliance: Handle standard remittances (GST, PST, WorkSafe and EHT)
- Inventory Management: Conduct and reconcile monthly physical inventory counts, set inventory costs
- Operations & Admin: Business insurance renewals, changes in customs requirements, software upgrades, operational improvements, process payroll for the administrative team
- Team Leadership: Understand and support the roles of all the administrative staff as needed; manage and update processes and procedures for maximum efficiency and accuracy
Requirements
- CPA Designation
- 3+ years in a senior accounting role

Strong cost accounting skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Manufacturing experience is an asset
- Advanced Excel - ability to run data queries (SQL or similar), Intermediate Adobe, ERP familiarity
- Well organized and able to prioritize tasks to manage the workload appropriately
- A “take-charge” attitude and a willingness to rotate tasks and assist in operations
- Vivid CPM an asset, strong computer skills to support staff on issues that may not require external IT support

Compensation
- 100% employer paid benefits with optional additional tiers
- Vacation accrual: to start 4.5% (11 days), 1 year 6.5% (16 days), 5 years 10% (5 weeks)
- Company paid RPP is eligible after 2 years of employment
- RRSP - Voluntary participation after 2 years of employment
