The Role
We have partnered with a leading, growth-focused organization in the recycling and environmental services industry to hire a Materials Marketing Manager. This is a high-impact role responsible for driving the marketing, sales, and movement of recyclable materials across multiple facilities.
This opportunity is ideal for a commercially minded professional with scrap or metal recycling experience, strong negotiation skills, and a passion for sustainability and the circular economy.
As the Materials Marketing Manager, you will lead the strategy and execution of material sales while building strong relationships across suppliers, brokers, and end markets. You’ll play a key role in optimizing pricing, ensuring steady material flow, and supporting operational excellence across facilities.

Responsibilities
- Develop and execute marketing strategies to maximize the value and movement of recyclable materials
- Manage the sale of materials in alignment with market conditions, pricing, and demand
- Identify and develop new markets, customers, and supplier relationships
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and supply agreements with brokers and end users
- Monitor market trends, indexes, and supply/demand to inform strategy
- Manage claims, downgrades, and rejections from buyers
- Collaborate closely with operations teams to ensure product quality meets market standards
- Support RFPs, tenders, and business development initiatives
- Lead and mentor a small team, including logistics and coordination staff
- Oversee logistics coordination in partnership with internal teams (including a remote team in BC)
- Conduct site visits to facilities and customers to ensure quality and performance standards
- Act as a key stakeholder in internal reporting, forecasting, and cross-functional planning
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in materials marketing, scrap, or metal recycling (required)
- Strong commercial acumen with proven experience in negotiation and contract management
- Experience managing or mentoring teams
- Solid understanding of recycling markets, pricing, and logistics
- Highly analytical with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required)
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed
