The Role
Our client; a leader in its industry, is seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Manager to oversee the manufacturing operations. The Production Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling manufacturing processes to ensure products are produced efficiently, on time, within budget, and to standard. This role requires strong leadership skills, a commitment to safety and quality, and the ability to drive continuous improvement across the production floor.
This role is 70% on the floor and 30% in the office, requiring a hands-on leader who will be responsible for managing the team on all 3 shift times.
Shift schedule runs from either 10 AM to 6:30 PM, OR 1 PM to 9:30 PM (depending on the chosen candidate's preference) – Monday to Friday; sometimes weekend work is required, especially during the busier seasons, but not regularly, mainly working on Sundays.
Responsibilities
- Plan and organize production schedules to meet customer demand and company goals.
- Manage and supervise a large production and tenured team, ensuring roles and responsibilities are clearly defined and executed.
- Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes, delays, or resource availability.
- Ensure health and safety regulations are met and enforced at all times.
- Oversee maintenance of machinery and equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
- Implement and oversee quality control standards to maintain high product quality.
- Coordinate with other departments, including supply chain, logistics, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless production flow.
- Analyze production data and prepare reports on performance, output, and efficiency.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement cost-effective solutions to enhance productivity.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to build a high-performing production team.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment in a supervisory or management role. Preferably in the food industry.
- Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
- Having flexibility to attend to any urgent calls outside shift times.
- Computing skills working with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Proficient in production management software and MS Office.
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing conditions.
Compensation
- $80,000-$90,000 per year
- Salary is open for negotiation after completing the probationary period
